This Privacy Policy explains how Bird Lee (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use beats.thebirdlee.com (the “Site”). By using the Site you agree to the practices described here.
1. Who we are
Bird Lee operates this Site to share and sell beats to music artists. Questions about this policy or your data: bird@thebirdlee.com.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us:
- Account details — your name, email address, and password when you create an account.
- Order details — your email address, billing information, order history, and the products you buy.
- Payment information — collected and processed directly by our payment processors. We do not store your full card number on our servers.
- Free-download requests — the email address you provide so we can send you the download link.
- Communications — any messages you send us.
Information we collect automatically:
- Device and usage data — your IP address, browser and device information, and how you interact with the Site, collected through cookies and similar technologies.
- Download records — to enforce free-download limits and prevent abuse, we keep records of which beats have been downloaded from an account or device. For guests, identifying details in these records are stored in a de-identified (hashed) form.
3. How we use your information
- To provide downloads and fulfill and deliver your orders.
- To create and manage your account.
- To process payments and prevent fraud and abuse.
- To send transactional emails (order confirmations, download links, account notices).
- To send marketing emails where you have signed up or otherwise consented; you can opt out at any time.
- To understand how the Site is used, improve it, and measure and serve advertising.
- To comply with our legal obligations and enforce our terms.
Legal bases (for EU/UK visitors): performance of a contract (orders and downloads), your consent (marketing and non-essential cookies), our legitimate interests (securing and improving the Site, preventing abuse), and compliance with legal obligations.
4. Marketing communications
If you have opted in, we may email you about new releases and offers. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time using that link or by emailing bird@thebirdlee.com. Opting out of marketing does not stop transactional messages about your orders or account.
5. Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the Site, and only as needed to do so. These include payment processors, email delivery and marketing platforms, advertising and analytics partners, and our hosting provider. Each processes your information under its own privacy policy and our instructions.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, or in connection with a business transfer.
6. Cookies and tracking technologies
We use cookies that are necessary for the Site to work (keeping items in your cart, keeping you logged in, operating checkout), and — with your consent where required — cookies for analytics and advertising set by third-party partners. You can control cookies through your browser settings; blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the Site from working.
7. How long we keep your information
We keep account and order information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, and meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements. Download records are kept only as long as needed to enforce download limits and prevent abuse. Marketing data is kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. If you are in California or another U.S. state with privacy laws, you may have the right to know what we collect, to request deletion, and to opt out of “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell your personal information. To exercise any of these rights, email bird@thebirdlee.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
9. How we protect your information
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Children’s privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. International transfers
We are based in the United States and our providers may process your information in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above, and significant changes will be posted on this page.
